The richest bottle you own is probably your worst summer fragrance. Elixirs and parfum flankers are built with weight, and weight is exactly what heat destroys. In July they turn syrupy and close. The cheaper citrus sitting next to them holds up all day. What heat rewards # Bright citrus, aquatic, and coconut. Not because they’re light — because they keep projecting once you’re warm and slightly sweaty, which is the actual test.

A thousand bottles, cut down to about ten. The thing that decided it wasn’t which ones smelled best. It was a much plainer question: could you walk into a shop tomorrow and buy this again? If yes, it goes. That filter is harsher and more useful than any review. Good is not the same as kept # This is the part that surprises people. Plenty of genuinely excellent fragrances fail the test.
